Improved e-mail archiving from CC Data
SOFTWARE
developer and distributor CC Data Ltd announces e-MARC™ Release
2.5, plus improvements to its Office Archiver module. e-MARC manages e-mail
storage problems and addresses record retention policies. Office Archiver
is an extension to Alchemy’s software suite that simplifies MS Office
file archiving.
e-MARC archives copies of all e-mail messages, with their attachments,
as they pass through an MS Exchange Server; storing them in a separate,
secure repository. In addition to being able to locate messages by their
default fields (to, from, subject and date), e-MARC also provides a comprehensive
text-search facility to find messages or the attachments by words or phrases
that exist in either. Importantly, it retains the relationship between
message and attachment.
Office Archiver plugs into any MS Office application providing a ‘send
to archive’ option. An index card must be completed before it is
sent to the Alchemy repository. This also allows users to archive copies
of e-mails from the Outlook client; treating them like any other file-type,
integrating their storage and retrieval with all related files.
Featuring greater scalability and multi-server support, e-MARC now provides
enhanced filtering and retrieval capability enabling streamlined management
of e-mails and a higher level of control. Its Search capability embedded
within Outlook, prevents switching between applications to locate files
in the repository.
Office Archiver not only offers integrated search capability, but also
introduces an ‘Archive Folder’ option, allowing users to place
any type of file into a network folder and be swept into Alchemy at regular
intervals.
CC Data is committed to devising better ways for organisations to manage
electronic information, in a consolidated database, for quick access and
easy sharing and aid recovery in case of failure in other systems.
